brussels-based duo yves de mey and peter van hoesen presenting three varied techno tracks. system policy features a continuously evolving layer of dubby chords, carefully placed in a rich, resonating musical space. at first it seems appropriate to call it dub techno, but crisp percussion and a keen ear for arrangement lend this track an extra dose of funk

uk born, japanese based max essa delivers us a tasty morsel and appetizer for his upcoming album on bearfunk. drive time is a slice of trademark slick, slo mo disco. with live drums, rolling bass synths and sundrenched chord changes, the track conjures up visions of sunsets, surfboards, highway 101 and long lazy days. irish based john daly delivers his re rub on the flip, adding in chunky stabs and rolling synth lines... but still managing to retain the slo mo feel.
very class release supported by kiki, lauhaus, karotte, mymy, pheek, solomun, afrilounge, agnes, boris werner, milton jackson, patrick zigon, dj terry, ralph lawson, patrick bateman, nhar…

with recent releases on emergence and token, grovskopa debuts for labrynth and hits the floor hard with treacher collins . re-processed percussion and rolling low end seem to cause sensory overload at every turn. the perfect floor tool. aa/ balamber sees grovskopa maintain the industrial focus, but heads further into darkness and despair. driving forwards relentlessly, a rolling sea of bass and mechanical abrasive tones force us to move and dance! b/ trademark michaelangelo sounds here on the 4/4, reminiscent of some of the mid 90 s synewave recs releases. sirius carves into an immense sonic landscape. chaotic and crackling high frequencies modulate and break up over our heads, while monotone subs meander and bounce with the kick. big room techno. big sound. quality. bb/ massive offbeat techno from telesthesia, a collaboration between michaelangelo & coefficient. complex rhythms continually weave throughout the track. the journey deconstructs and falls into darkness, re-emerging again into precision synths and digital modulations
three tracks featuring the familiar time to express sound: rolling, spacious and with more than just a hint at dark and sweaty venues. peter van hoesen turns out to be the belgian copy of marcel dettmann or ben klock. this 12inch features a remix by mlz from modern love
spaced out new material from morphines ra.h, coming with a new edge but in a recognizable style. the ep is powerful mix of dub roots, jacking beats, vocal rings, retro drum machine presets and effects used in strong but simple form. moving into wave territory at times with a firm nod towards the upsetter, scratch... time is one thing. space is another.

neo-trance theme !!! angels of kindness are seesawing in their fluffy clouds while eavesdropping the new opus - and yes, one can easily call it an opus - of catekk. dunning the sound creeps up (up from the viennese flex club?) through this mundane labyrinth. muse awakened the apocalyptic riders with its kiss and instead of the twilight of gods you are served subtle grooves, which only admit zeus sharp lightning to pass through the thunderclouds of bass. thunderstorm and labyrinth makes, how could it else be? a markus lange remix, who obviously enjoyed remixing this big theme, while following catekks traces in the wind. whos still missing? yes, newbornchristians must be around, when it comes to remixes with the perfect relation between foolishness and intelligence.
includes remix by patrick zigon. supported by laurent garnier, and.id, milton jackson, marco resmann, sebbo, delon & dalcan, patrick bateman, ed davenport, nhar, sebastien thibaud, lars sommerfeld
ceephaxs drive time k7 was released as a bonus cassette with his first album, and is a cult classic. half an hour of music per side, ranging from banging vocal acid to the deepest and darkest side of ambient, with everything in between. the 27 tracks are a perfect description of andy jenkinson s original music universe, his roots. it took about quite a while to transfer it onto acetate, it was one of the most challenging vinyl cut that anyone can imagine. the making of this record is kind of similar to homer s iliad. the stamper was then stored for several years, safe from the dangers of heat and daylight. just like for the nicest bottles of wine. firtcask records just took this jewel out of the cellar...
rinder & lewis: anger - considered one of the most abstract production teams of the disco era, this cut was taken from their >seven deadly sins< album (very rare!). never released on 12inch inch, this cut was a music box fave! not much to edit, just give it a dj friendlier drum intro. a great cut for a disco or a deep house set!mighty clouds of joy: time - one of my favorite edits! taken from their >its time< album. even thought this song was produced by dave crawford, the philly sound played a big part in it (thanks to norman harris on guitar & earl young on drums). the song was originally recorded in 2 parts, so i combined them with a little bit of dub. yes, you can give praise and boogie at the same time!

dj whiteside and vocalist candy williams team up again for the new release on milk & sugar recordings. whiteside, since 20 years now on the road, started in the music business in switzerland as a producer of illegal, but highly demanded mixtapes, the >billboard tapes<. fined for music piracy in 1990 it took him as long as until 1995, before he gained great success again with >ugly house<, the most successful cd compilation series in switzerland until now. he was given the opportuninty to release his first artist album soon after, which was also a great seller, not only in switzerland.

our music is a secret order. but we are not rich powerful men in suits planning how to get even richer. nor are we dressing in capes performing occult or religious sermonize. we are no elite trying to separate ourselves from others. no, we are ordinary down to earth people. what unites us is that we live and breathe music. it is our passion and our drive. and it has been like that since we discovered that music must be an expression of the human soul. or as jason fine puts it: in my opinion, making deep music is not possible without a strong internal connection between the user and their feelings. ultimately the end product is a reflection of what the user was feeling while making the piece. i think its important to listen to your creative flow and respect it -- i dont try to make music when im not feeling it, because guaranteed the result will be bad. it all boils down to what im feeling at that particular moment in time when i create a piece. with these words we welcome you to the first full length album release on the kontra-musik imprint - our music is a secret order (louis armstrong, 1954). producer is greatly talented newcomer jason fine, who released his debut ep on omar-s fxhe label last year..
